1) You will choose a specific topic related to Advertising and Globalization that you have found of interest this semester. You will have the opportunity to research this topic in detail and reach your own observations and conclusions.
2) You will provide an introductory paragraph which introduces the articles you have chosen, and which identifies and summarizes relevant themes/topics we have discussed in class this semester. You will develop a clearly defined thesis statement which conveys your point of view.
3) You will provide a series of articles, videos or ads in the journal format as specified. You will summarize each article, and specify and identify how this article relates to these we have covered in class.
4) You will provide a concluding statement or paragraph.
As you read articles or watch videos related to globalization and advertising, compile a series of articles or ads you found most valuable and relevant. After each article, please summarize, analyze and share your reaction to the article. Are there any concepts that we have learned in class that are represented in this story? Describe the relevant concepts we learned in class in detail, with as much specificity as possible. Why did you choose this article/ad and what are your reactions to it? You should include at least six articles/ads. Your response to each article/ad should be at least one to two paragraphs. Be sure to look at this brand from a critical perspective as well. How do they treat their workers? Do they outsource production? What is the brand’s impact on society? What is the brand’s impact on the environment?
