Purpose: This assignment will help students identify the ways in which language development difficulties can result in difficulties carrying out learning tasks in the classroom.
Instructions: During the school age years academic demands require students to use their language skills to listen, speak, read and write. Write an APA formatted paper that is at least four pages in length, discussing the importance of each modality (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in the academic setting. The paper should also describe which language skills in each of the five language domains (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics) are needed and how they are used in the activities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Devote at least one page to discussing each of the four activities. (1 page for listening, 1 page for speaking, 1 page for reading, and 1 page for writing)
