behaviorism, with contemporary theories such as connectivism. The traditional theories provide the foundation
on which to develop models for online and blended learning. However, based on these theories, other newer
models have been developed to support technology-enhanced learning pedagogy, such as:
• Mayes’ conceptualization cycle,
• Laurillard’s conversational framework, and
• Salmon’s five stage model.
