Epilepsy Make one slide about anatomy which demonstrate the main structure: temporal lobes,hippocami, amygdala include image of MRI using www.imaios.com/en/ the other 2 slides I want you do safety issue on MRI epilepsy : 1/ generic safety:static field: translation/ rotation of ferrous objects,missile effect(inside body e.g.:aneurysm clip/ intra-ocular fb and outside e.g.: wheelchairs. 2/oscillating field(radio frequency ): current induction in loops of conducting material causing equipment malfunction +/- burns- pacemakers or in tissue ( also conducting loops causing PNS and surface skin contact burns. 3/gradient filed:Current is induced in the body which interferes with normal functions of nerve cells and muscle fibres 4/Acoustic noise: is generated as gradient coils are switched on /off. Hearing damage may occur. the last slide want you to do specific safety for epilepsy : the patient could have a seizure at the scanner how might to deal with an emergency? move the patient out from the table and do the pessary work to safe him ..
