There is old saying by Benjamin Franklin in 1750 “There are three things extremely hard, Steel, a Diamond and to know one’s self”. The attachment includes two news scripts, related to charisma effect on crowd. The effect of charisma is highly debatable: is it relative i.e. work for a group but not for other, or absolute works for all people across the board. Also, is the charisma something born with or can be developed. Regardless where the truth lies, we are more interested to learn the real merit of leadership. More importantly, not to be influenced by bad leadership models camouflaged under charismatic demeanor of the influencer. Answer the following:
- Compare the scenarios against the Emotional Intelligence framework for the influencer
- Compare the scenarios against the Emotional Intelligence framework for the follower
- Do you think that we need to develop a defense wall on our “Self Awareness” and our deep understanding for the “Social Awareness”. In order not to be manipulated by strong influencers.
- Do you think that you can magnify your charisma/influence by strong understanding for others weak spots in their “Self Awareness” or your strong understanding for the society/ cultural mandates?
- How do you see the role of the code of conduct to mitigate/damper our cruel intensions to manipulate potential vulnerable followers.
