In his article “Mud for the Land,” Nick Blomley suggests that to study the landscape critically, as “not a fact but an aspiration,” is in some small way to make the land “loud and unsettled.” Use examples from the course – historical and geographical contexts – to explain how this might work in a grounded sense.
